Profile updated 1:13pm 22nd July 2010:
Witney Royals Football Club, established in 1989, have graced the Witney & District league for nearly 20 years. Early form saw them clinch league and cup success in their first season and their 1st team continues to do battle in the upper echelons of the league.

What began as a single team started by friends leaving school developed into a muli-team club competing on several fronts: the club now boasts 1st, Reserve, A-side and Veteran teams.

Royals now coming in to their 21st season as a club are looking to put real pressure on the other Witney and District Teams to become a dominent force in all three division. Witney Royals firsts will be looking to challenge for the top spot in the Premier league after finishing a very respectable 4th in the 2009/2010 season. They have a new manager coming in this year to take over from Ben Readhead, Luke Chadwick who was player of the season 2 years ago for the firsts. Luke will be putting high levels of energy into the squad and making sure everyone is fighting for their spot in the team. With the club getting more and more interest every year the challenge for a starting place is getting more and more difficult.

Witney Royals Reserves will be coming in to the 2010/2011 season after being taken so close to promotion by Colin Morris after a fantastic start to last season, but unfortunately slip ups at the back end of the season saw them finish in third spot. Matt Wondrak, who's A team last season won division 4 and made the final of the Hughes Supplementary Cup but lost out to Stanton Harcourt, will be taking over Colin Morris as the ressies manager. A loved figure of Royals, he will also have a tough job picking his squad as there's so much talent in the club for the upcoming season. the reserves will be looking for a start similar to last season but with a bit more consistency in as they take on 2010/2011 with a new zest and determination.

Kearse Simpson (who has been with the club from the beggining) and Ben Readhead (last years first team manager) are running the A team this year and again competition is fierce for spots in the starting 11. After promotion last season they take on new opposition in division 3 and are looking to finish at the top end of the table if not winning the championship. After the success of the team last season Witney Royals A has become less of a feeder club and more of a 3rd Witney royals side who can challenge with the best of them.

Witney Royals will be looking for their best season yet and the buzz around all the players at training and out is electric. With Richard Hill (former QPR Assistant Manager and former pro footballer) taking training sessions Witney Royals are getting the best possible coaching they can and this will surely help contribute to a great 2010/2011 season.
